Signed out of Amazon and back in using TouchID and Safari/Keychain autofilled the login then password and 1p sat there silently doing nothing. Got 1p set up and made sure preferences were set to watch for password entry. Installed 1p on my wife's Macbook which currently uses the built-in Safari keychain. However, I decided to try the Family plan and am now having a major issue. Have to say that 1password 7 has been a positive experience overall and I have not seen many of the concerns posted by others on moving from version 6. The latter threw up errors on importing passwords from 1p, DashLane and Enpass so gave up on that. I ended up installing 1p7 and trialed it against Enpass, Dashlane, LastPass and BitWarden.

If I instead choose the Family membership but my family does not take to it, can I change to a personal membership later on? The standalone version of 1Password 7 does indeed let you continue to sync with iCloud, so no need to worry there!.1Password X depends on the service, so it does not work with local vaults, so you are correct in that regard, you would lose the ability to use 1Password X with a license.ĭoes the standalone version 7 allow me to keep syncing with iCloud versus moving my database to 1password?.For example, Safari 13 uses an all new extension framework, and as such will not work with 1Password 6. As things continue to evolve around the now retired 1Password 6 it will be less and less practical to continue using it. Reverting to 1Password 6 should be considered a temporary measure. That said, licenses never expire, and so you can continue using any version you've licensed for as long as it works for you. If you opt to revert to an earlier version that is your prerogative, but it isn't something we can recommend. As a security focused company we'd always recommend running the latest versions of all of your software, but especially your operating system, web browser(s), and 1Password. 1Password 6 has been retired and is no longer being updated. The longer answer is that we can't recommend using an older version. The short answer here is, yes, you could indeed use 1Password 7 and in the event you chose to return to 1Password 6, you would be able to do so.We wouldn't be where we are today without people like you. If I like 7 but want to stay in a paid (non subscription) version, do I just miss out on the X extension allowing me to access my passwords on devices that don't have 1password installed?Īnd, does the standalone version 7 allow me to keep syncing with iCloud versus moving my database to 1password?Īnd, if I instead choose the Family membership but my family does not take to it, can I change to a personal membership later on?įirst and foremost, I wanted to thank you for being such a loyal customer for so long.

My main question is: Is it possible to install the demo version of 1password 7 to make sure it keeps all the functionality I like in 6.8.9 and, if I dislike it, delete the demo and keep using my old paid-for version? I have been trying out alternatives including Dashlane, Enpass, Bitwarden but have found most to be missing some function that I've grown to really like with 1password. it's been a great program that has followed me through numerous devices but I have been very hesitant to move to 7/X given the very mixed reviews. I've been a 1password user for 10 years (started with version 1.4). We'll always be marked by an official flair, and will always love both 1Password and you.
